Arsenal has made the decision to end Takehiro Tomiyasu’s contract.
Since October 2024, the Japan defender has not been spotted wearing a Gunners shirt.
Tomiyasu is anticipated to be sidelined until the end of 2025 following surgery on his knee in February.
Although his current deal expires next summer, there have been discussions over an early termination.
The Daily Mail reports that a mutual agreement has been reached and an official announcement is expected soon.
Tomiyasu arrived from Bologna for a transfer fee just under £20 million in August 2021.
But he has struggled with injuries throughout his time with Arsenal.
Last season, Tomiyasu made only one substitute appearance in all competitions, playing for six minutes against Southampton in October.
