After drawing 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday, Arsenal created history.

Viktor Gyokeres and Julian Alvarez scored goals for their respective teams in the match, which took place at the Metropolitano in Madrid, Spain.

But according to OptaJoe, Arsenal has now tied the record for the greatest unbeaten streak in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League, having won 13 straight games for the second time, from March 2005 to April 2006 (13).

This weekend, Arsenal will turn their focus to the Premier League when they host Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s team will play Atletico Madrid at home in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final following the Fulham match.
