Liverpool are eager to acquire Alexander Isak from Newcastle United and are prepared to break their transfer record for the second time this summer.
Florian Wirtz has already been signed by The Reds from Bayer Leverkusen for £116 million.
Along with Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong has also arrived from Leverkusen, as well as Bournemouth’s left-back Milos Kerkez.
However, the Premier League champions are not finished and are considering a remarkable transfer for Isak.
To secure the Sweden international, a new British record fee of over £125m will be required.
If they get encouragement, Liverpool will start discussions with Newcastle.
Newcastle insists that Isak is not available for transfer and aims to enhance his contract, which currently amounts to £120,000 per week.
At present, Isak is part of Newcastle’s squad in Austria for a training camp.
