What will occur if the Super Eagles do not qualify for the 2026 World Cup – Ola Aina

Ola Aina, defender for the Super Eagles, has confessed to his desperation to play at the 2026 World Cup after missing the last two tournaments.

Since 2018, Nigeria has failed to qualify for the tournament.

The three-time African champions were unsuccessful in qualifying in 2022, having lost to Ghana in a two-legged play-off.

The Eagles are currently positioned fourth in Group C of the World Cup Qualifiers, six points adrift of leaders South Africa, and are on the brink of another missed opportunity.

With only four games remaining, Nigeria’s chances of advancing rely solely on a miracle. Aina, who turns 29 in October, remarked, “I got shenked in 2018 that manager (Gernot Rohr) shenked me, I was supposed to go, but he did rubbish.”

„Dann haben wir uns 2022 offensichtlich nicht qualifiziert. I’m focusing all my energy on 2026. I must leave, or else I fear my dream of playing in the World Cup will be finished.

“I will be too old, and I don’t want to take someone else’s place, plus it’s located in the US. I must be present there. We have five (four) games remaining, and we must win them all.
