Kaduna State University (KASU) has become a highly advanced center for higher education in terms of academic delivery, research, and expanded facilities.
Vice Chancellor Professor Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa stated that the university has increased opportunities for Kaduna State youth to achieve academic excellence.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Professor Musa revealed that KASU is “the only state university in Nigeria to win a N1 billion competitive grant for commercial agriculture awarded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).”
The Vice Chancellor also noted that three KASU scholars have been ranked among the World’s top 2% Scientists, calling it a historic achievement for both Kaduna State and Nigeria.
He named the three scholars bringing honor to the nation as Professor Ibrahim Inuwa (Chemistry Department), Dr. Daniel Yahaya Shagaiya (Mathematics Department), and Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf Zuntu (Physics Department).
He attributed these successes to the support of Governor Uba Sani, adding that KASU has seen remarkable change over the last two years due to strategic reforms, specific investments, and a steady dedication to excellence.
According to Professor Musa, KASU’s achievements across various areas reflect Governor Uba Sani’s broader goal of human capital development, knowledge-based growth, and shared prosperity for all Kaduna State citizens.
Professor Musa highlighted that Kaduna State University has established two new academic colleges: the College of Science, Computing & Engineering and the College of Allied Health & Pharmaceutical Sciences.
He also disclosed that KASU has formed global research partnerships with Lomonosov Moscow State University to close digital gaps and encourage academic exchanges.
Additionally, KASU has partnered with Universitas Indonesia for stem cell research promotion and with Ascending Consultants/Ledger Lab for innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain.
The Vice Chancellor further noted that KASU has introduced in-demand programs such as Cyber Security, Data Science, Biotechnology, and Information Systems.
Professor Musa also stated that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has verified resources for 40 new academic programs and accredited over 50 programs, with 47 achieving full accreditation.
He concluded that these reforms have solidified KASU’s standing as a forward-looking university that produces graduates ready for the industry, aligning with the government’s vision for higher education.
