Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has denounced the horrific slaughter of defenseless civilians and urged his officers to upgrade and broaden their intelligence collection system in order to apprehend the criminals and prosecute them.
In a statement, CSC Afolabi Babawale, National Public Relations Officer, NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, said the CG made calls while on a planned trip to the state with senior security leaders to conduct an immediate situational assessment.
The Corps is working closely with other security agencies to put an end to this heinous act, he informed the governor and residents of Yelwata in Guma Local Government Area, who lost loved ones in the attack.
He condemned the senseless murder of children and women without arms in the recent tragic tragedy, pointing out that there was absolutely no excuse for the horrific death of defenseless civilians.
In order to effectively deploy covert operatives, special forces, and all tactical units to every corner of the state, the NSCDC boss gave the Zonal Commander and the State Commandant a marching order.
