Industrialist, Charles Ekholowa Enahonna, has declared for the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election to represent Igueben Constituency, promising to serve only one term if elected.
Enahonna made his intention known yesterday at the All Progressives Congress, APC, Secretariat in Igueben Local Government.
Charles Ekholowa Enahonna, an industrialist, has announced his candidacy for the Igueben Constituency in the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election, pledging to serve a single term if elected.
Yesterday, Enahonna announced his plans at the Igueben Local Government All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat.
Everyone will prosper if the next generation does, and by working together, we can create a future in the Igueben Constituency that we can all be proud of. It is a duty as well as a promise to empower the next generation. He stated, “That is the way to secure the future.”
In order to usher in a new era of accelerated development across all ten wards of the constituency, the House of Assembly candidate stated that cooperation, inclusivity, and pragmatic governance would be his watchwords.
When given the party’s ticket and elected, he promised to rehabilitate important road networks, such as Udo and Amahor roads. He also proposed that the state, local government, and grassroots leadership structures could work together to construct the roads and other infrastructure projects
According to him, knowing Igueben’s socioeconomic dynamics gives him a tactical edge to provide powerful representation.
“I am aware that no one goes twice, even before some of us were born. After one term, I won’t bother the electorate and leaders by requesting reelection.
“I can accomplish everything I want to do in just one term. By God’s grace, I will keep my word,” he declared.
He stated that among other things, infrastructure development, women’s and youth empowerment, and the welfare of the constituents would be his top priorities.
Speaking further about his legislative priorities, the business tycoon emphasized the need for responsive laws to address issues like youth unemployment, education for girls, out-of-school children, and community-specific issues.
Certain laws require immediate attention. Meeting the needs of the people is more important than money, he continued.
Hon. Ephraim Aluebhosele, speaking on behalf of the party’s local government executives, called Hon. Enahonna one of the most promising candidates to defeat in the party’s primary election.
Aluebhosel, the leader of the APC in the Igueben local government area and a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, promised that the party would provide equal opportunities for all candidates to run in the primary.
However, pointing out that they are all part of the same party and that only one candidate would emerge after the primary election, he counseled the candidates to avoid politics of resentment and campaigns of defamation.
