Sabo Nakudu, a candidate for governor of Jigawa State for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has promised to leave Nigeria if the All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the general election in 2027 without improving the living conditions of its constituents.
While welcoming members of the ADC youth wing in Jigawa State, Nakudu made this promise.
The candidate for governor voiced concern about what he called the nation’s increasing hardship and cautioned that if immediate action is not taken to address the problems facing the country, young Nigerians will continue to suffer.
He pointed out that many citizens are frustrated and apprehensive about the future due to the incapacity of successive governments to meet basic needs.
Decades after Nigeria gained independence, he believes that access to basic services like clean water, electricity, education, and security should no longer be campaign promises.
Nakudu went on to say that it was disheartening that many communities still struggle to obtain stable power supplies and drinkable water, and that governments should be evaluated based on how their policies affect the day-to-day lives of common people.
“If the APC wins the general elections in 2027, I’m leaving Nigeria. If the current conditions of unemployment, insecurity, and inadequate infrastructure continue, the younger generation will suffer the most.
Instead of distancing yourself from politics, actively engage in the democratic process. He stated that public office should only be given to leaders who are dedicated to growth and responsibility.
