According to Ali Ndume, the lawmaker for the Borno South Senatorial District, Boko Haram terrorists are blind to faith, emphasizing that they target Christians, Muslims, and non-Muslims.
The senator urged Nigerians to band together to defeat the insurgents and resist the urge to profile victims of the terror gang’s atrocities, especially in the media.
In a statement he released in Abuja on Wednesday, Ndume made the appeal.
The federal lawmaker acted after hearing about weekend attacks in Ngoshe village, Gwoza Local Government Area, and Mussa community in Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
BASEMEDIA recalls that in two separate incidents over the weekend, the insurgents killed five farmers in the villages of Ngoshe and Mussa.
Information gathered indicates that two Muslims were killed in Ngoshe and three Christians were killed in Mussa.
It is unethical and unconscionable for any media outlet to spread the myth that Christians in Borno or anywhere else in northeastern Nigeria are the victims of these terror group attacks.
