A group from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu North Senatorial Zone has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to appoint a minister from their area to end years of neglect, noting that the zone has been excluded from the position since 1999.

The Enugu North APC Frontiers, a group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, has officially appealed to President Bola Tinubu to address an “age-long injustice” by appointing a native of the Enugu North Senatorial Zone as a Minister to replace the resigned Uche Nnaji.
In a letter signed by National Convener Barr. Ejikeme Ugwu and National Secretary Sydney Eze, the group highlighted that no one from Enugu North has served as a Minister since the start of the democratic dispensation in 1999, despite the zone comprising over 52\% of the state’s population.
The data provided by the group shows that since 1999, Enugu West has received 4 ministerial slots and Enugu East 3, while Enugu North has received none. They argued that this is a “clear manifestation of marginalization and lack of fairness”.
The group urged the President to include Enugu North for the first time in the Federal Executive Council and other federal appointments to ensure fairness and equity. They assured the President that the zone is rich in qualified, honest professionals and technocrats who can successfully drive the “Renewed Hope Agenda” and promised that the people of Enugu North would deliver the “highest votes” for the APC in 2027 if their request is granted.
