Gumi: Terrorists are receiving support from outside forces in the kidnapping of a school in Niger

Prominent Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi claims that external parties are providing terrorists with intelligence and satellite support under the pretense of protecting Christians in Nigeria.
Gumi, in a Facebook post, criticized this foreign interference as detrimental to national security, stating that such intelligence should instead be used to help the Nigerian military. He referred to this alleged actor as “‘Laurence of the Forest’.”
His comments follow the abduction of students and staff from St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution in the Papiri community of Niger State, an incident confirmed by the Kotangora Catholic Diocese. The number of victims is still being determined.
This abduction occurred shortly after a separate incident in Kebbi State where at least 25 students were kidnapped from a government school.
