Three officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, were killed Thursday night when suspected Lakurawa gunmen attacked a checkpoint in Bakin Ruwa community, Bagudu Local Government Area, Kebbi State.
The attackers also burned a patrol vehicle and wrecked the shelter area at the checkpoint during the assault.
Security analyst Bakatsine highlighted the incident in a Friday post on X, which included a video of the attack’s aftermath. Bakatsine wrote that gunmen suspected to be Lakurawa attacked the NIS checkpoint in Bakin Ruwa community, Bagudu LGA, killing three NIS officers, burning a vehicle, and destroying the shelter.
Bakatsine also asked what steps communities and authorities can take to improve safety in such situations.
