Outspoken Plateau State clergyman, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, claimed Boko Haram terrorists have issued a fresh threat against his life, placing a large reward on his head for anyone who finds and kills him first.
Rev. Dachomo, the Regional Chairman of COCIN in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, made the claim in a video shared on Thursday, stating the new threat stems from his consistent anti-genocide stance and his public sharing of videos depicting Christian killings and mass burials.
His actions also led to trouble with Nigerian authorities after he revealed that individuals loyal to President Bola Tinubu warned and threatened him to stop posting such videos. His Facebook and Instagram accounts were deleted, and Meta barred him from posting the videos, citing the potential threat to Nigeria’s internal security.
In the video, Dachomo claimed he has reliable internal information that the Islamist terrorist group is serious about eliminating him for speaking out against their violence. He stated in the video, “Boko Haram, the Islamic terrorists, have placed a bounty on my head, and anyone who kills me first will be rewarded.”
Despite the personal danger, the clergy insisted he will not be deterred from his advocacy to draw global attention to Christian genocide in the state and the Middle Belt region, even while addressing the rising insecurity and persecution in the country.
He stated, “Before I embarked on this journey of exposing Christian genocide in Plateau and in Nigeria, I knew my life would be in danger, but I do not fear death.” He added that his death would be “more dangerous to them than now that I am alive.”
He emphasized that the issue is about every Nigerian seeking peace and safety, urging the public, “We need support to stand against this terrorism.”
