Nigeria’s support and dedication to the prompt execution of the terms of the revitalized agreement on the settlement of the South Sudanese conflict have been affirmed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The immediate and unconditional release of Riek Machar, the nation’s first vice president, and other important opposition leaders is one of the president’s main requests. In remarks made this Sunday at the African Union (AU) High-Level Adhoc Committee For South Sudan, also known as the C-5 Plus Summit, which was hosted on the fringes of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and chaired by President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, President Tinubu was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
