In order to combat crude oil theft, FG unveils a new metering plant.

With the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) inaugurating a Gravimetric Multifaceted Flow Metering Calibration Facility ob Eket, Akwa Ibom State, the Federal Government has taken steps to increase accountability in the crude oil industry. The project tackles a persistent industry problem: uncertainty in crude measurement. It is the first of its sort in West Africa.Inaccurate metering has been a factor in disagreements, income leaks, and dependence on foreign laboratories for calibration for many years. Speaking at the commissioning, NUPRC Commission Chief Executive Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan praised the facility’s indigenous developer, Engineering Automation Technology Limited (EATL), for its vision, faith, bravery, and patriotism in funding the cutting-edge project.
