A lawsuit contesting the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primary election process for the Jega, Gwandu, and Aliero Federal Constituency seats has been heard by the Federal High Court in Birnin Kebbi.
Alhaji Faruku Sarkin Kabin Jega, a candidate, filed a lawsuit against Alhaji Abubakar Gwandu and the ADC over how the party handled the primary election.
The plaintiff’s attorney, Bashar Umar, informed the court that the case is seeking an order compelling the ADC to hold a transparent and democratic primary election in accordance with the party’s electoral rules and constitution.
Faruku claimed that after meeting all contest requirements and passing the party’s screening committee, his name was later taken off the list of qualified candidates.
