The Oyo State Fire Service confirmed that a fire destroyed properties valued at millions of naira in a residential building in Ibadan.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon at No 1, Road 10, Adepoju Area in Ibadan, affecting one of the flats in the building.
A correspondent gathered that millions of naira worth of properties were damaged in the fire.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the event, noting that the fire was successfully put out with the combined effort of the state agency and the Federal Fire Service.
In a statement provided to DAILY POST on Thursday evening, Akinwande said:
“Upon arrival, our officers quickly swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to the second flat.”
He added, “The Federal Fire Service Ibadan Command later joined the Oyo State Fire Services and the fire was collectively extinguished.”
