A 15-year-old boy named Yusuf Danliti was successfully rescued after falling into open water at Gari Dam in the Gari Local Government Area of Kano State. The Kano State Fire Service confirmed that they received a distress call about the incident around 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from Usman Garba. Firefighters from the Gari Fire Station quickly responded and, upon arrival, found the boy in the water. The victim was pulled out unconscious and was then handed over to the local Village Head, Lawan Zangina, for necessary follow-up action. Alhaji Sani Anas, the Director of the Kano State Fire Service, used the opportunity to advise parents and guardians to be alert and closely supervise their children, especially to prevent them from engaging in local swimming in open waters, which he noted has continually caused fatalities. The Kano State Fire Service concluded by reiterating its dedication to safeguarding lives and property throughout the state.
