Nearly 200 people have been slain by bandits in Kebbi State’s Tadurga Ward of the Zuru Local Government Area.
According to information obtained by the DAILY POST, the more than fifty criminals broke into the neighborhood on Monday night after everyone had gone to their separate homes.
In a statement released on Wednesday by his media assistant Mohammed Bello Doka, former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami verified this, calling the attack “savage and heinous.”
“The terrible loss of almost 200 innocent lives is a painful scar on our collective conscience and a stark reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive security and development across our communities,” he said.
We offer the families of the victims our deepest sympathies and wish for the deceased’s rest in peace. May the All-Powerful Allah bless them Jannatul Firdaus and provide strength and healing to those who are left behind.
“This attack is a national tragedy that needs immediate and forceful action; it is not only a tragedy for Zuru or Kebbi State. Attention is desperately needed for Zuru and the local governments of Dankowasagu, Fakai, Sakaba, and Zuru.
The fact that these areas still lack motorable roads, good hospitals, well-equipped schools, and a strong security framework in 2025 is intolerable.
“We strongly condemn this act of terror and urge the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Kebbi State Government to immediately increase their efforts to defend and protect our people.”
“The security and well-being of its citizens are the government’s top priorities, and they must not be disregarded.”
