Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, put in more effort to support the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket for the 2027 general elections, according to Babachir Lawal, a former secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The former SGF maintained that the ADC primary election that yielded Atiku Abubakar was heavily manipulated in an ongoing verbal exchange with the former vice president.
Lawal contrasted Atiku’s low-key approach to the competition with Amaechi’s actions.
Someone like Rotimi Amaechi was certain that he would win if we went to the primaries. Everyone in his immediate vicinity was utterly certain that Amaechi would prevail.
“Amaechi was the one going around, working hard to make sure he got the ticket out of the three candidates,” Lawal stated.
Remember that the former SGF claimed he had proof to back up his accusations that the primary election that resulted in Atiku was heavily rigged before he left the ADC.
