Barcelona wants to trade five prominent players this summer, including De Jong.

Frenkie de Jong, a midfielder, is one of five prominent players that Barcelona is apparently willing to part with in a summer fire sale.

Despite being a mainstay in the Blaugrana’s engine room for a long time, the Netherlands international’s recent campaigns have been frequently marred by injuries.

De Jong is at the top of the list of possible exits this summer, according to MARCA.

Robert Lewandowski, Marcus Rashford, Andreas Christensen, and Marc Casado are joining the 28-year-old.

Although De Jong’s contract expires in June 2029, his persistent fitness problems have caused grave concerns.

He has missed 11 games this season alone due to a variety of injuries, including a hamstring issue that kept him out of action for 45 days.

His future appears less clear now that Marc Bernal is back in the fold and De Jong is one of the club’s highest earners.

Lewandowski, whose contract expires in June 2026, is apparently getting close to leaving.

Rashford’s loan period is also scheduled to expire this summer, and a return to Manchester United is imminent following a lackluster performance, especially in the Champions League semifinals.

Under manager Hansi Flick, La Masia product Casado has lost favor, and Christensen has been out since December due to an ACL injury.
