Chelsea’s meager chances of making it to the Champions League were severely damaged on Tuesday night when they suffered a 3-0 Premier League loss against Brighton.
Since March 14, the Blues have not won nor scored in the league.
Additionally, the setback at the Amex marked their fifth straight defeat.
Ferdi Kadioglu gave Brighton the lead in the third minute.
It was unfortunate for the home team not to lead by three goals at the interval. However, they struck the back of the net once again after halftime, and Jack Hinshelwood made it 2-0.
Brighton overtook Chelsea to take sixth position in the standings with a third goal from Danny Welbeck, who came off the bench.
