Contentious Nigerian senators have been under fire from Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okunneye, also known as Bobrisky, for the attack on Benue State’s Yelewata community by alleged herdsmen.
In a post on his Instagram profile on Monday, June 16, 2025, Bobrisky reportedly stated that an urgent meeting was scheduled in 2024 to address the claims that he did not remain in a prison cell after being imprisoned for Naira misuse, according to Naija News.According to Bobrisky, the same senators and members of the House of Representatives have not summoned any urgent sessions to address the killings in Benue State and are currently mute.
He wrote: “Senator/house representative didn’t call urgent meeting over the killing happening in benue.. but they can call urgent meeting when it comes to bobrisky. Shame!!!! Shame!!!! Shame!!! What a shameful country.”
Meanwhile, security chiefs, police, and the military have arrived in Benue State, following the directive of President Bola Tinubu, to put an end to the insecurity ravaging the state.
This development was made known in a statement on Sunday by the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Onanuga stated that in order to establish enduring peace and security in Benue State, the President instructed the security chiefs to carry out his previous mandate.
Following the most recent round of retaliatory attacks that resulted in the deaths of over 200 people, President Tinubu reportedly extended his directive, according to Naija News.
