Oriyomi Hamzat, the proprietor of Agidigbo 88.7 FM, a radio station situated in Ibadan, revealed that he would have a higher chance of winning the Oyo State governorship election if he ran in 2027.
He revealed this during a live broadcast with an international caller who suggested that he not seek for the Oyo governor’s office in 2027.
“Don’t believe those who claim that Oyo is phoning Oriyomi Hamzat,” the caller added. All they are doing is lying.
“Even though you are serving the public, don’t count on them to support you in the election. They won’t.
“Don’t let them deceive you. Even the area where your radio station is located, if politicians take money there, you will lose the polling unit.
“The general public will not vote for you, despite the fact that you are a good person and qualified.”
In his response, Hamzat rejected such counsel, claiming such depressing remarks would not stop him because he is capable of making his own political choices.
“Don’t say they won’t vote for me,” he said. You may even be the one to encourage me to run for office. My brain is mine. I don’t want to hear this kind of advice ever again.
