The Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna, Niger State, has been designated by the Federal Government as the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport’s substitute.
According to Naija News, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation, made the announcement on Overland Airways’ first flight from Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
According to Keyamo, the airport is like any other international airport in the globe in terms of its face, runway, ambience, and location.
“It is an international runway, so a 747 and a triple 7 can use it,” he stated. It’s still unclear why this has been underutilized over time.
“This airport is in the spotlight. I therefore announce Minna Airport as an alternative to Abuja Airport using the authority granted to me. Note, NCA and FAAN.
