Asake claims that the former governor’s explanation revealed his lack of comprehensive knowledge of the state, as his remarks regarding Southern Kaduna demonstrated his total lack of familiarity with the region.
“Those who ran the state before him can attest that El-Rufai is ignorant of Southern Kaduna because, both before and during his tenure as governor, he rarely traveled there or engaged with local stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of the region. The nation will continue to suffer as long as the right people are not permitted to lead their people at the federal, state, or local levels of government. This is the case in Kaduna State, where El-Rufai became governor by accident, and we all witnessed the events that transpired during his tenure.
