Comrade Ahmed Danjuma, Regional Manager of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (North Central) and Airport Manager of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, has disclosed that the airport’s response system mechanism is still inadequate and has certain gaps that require immediate attention. During a full-scale emergency scenario in Abuja on Thursday, he made this statement.He explained that the purpose of the mandatory two-yearly mock aircraft accident exercise was to evaluate the airport’s ability to respond in real time across agencies, resources, and coordination channels. “Every observation from the drill would be documented and circulated to all stakeholders for immediate action,” the statement continued. “We are here to appraise ourselves, debrief, and identify the weaknesses.”
