A tragic fire that started around midnight on Monday in the Kofar Sauri area of Katsina State killed five members of a single family, including the father, mother, and their three children, causing deep shock in the community. The family was reportedly trapped inside their house as the flames quickly consumed the structure. Neighbors said that by the time they noticed the blaze and attempted to help, the fire had already engulfed the entire building, making rescue impossible. Although the state fire service has not released an official statement on the cause, residents believe the fire may have been caused by a sudden high-voltage power surge which frequently occurs in the area when electricity is restored.
