Kaduna: Bandits murder and kidnap villagers as troops begin a rescue effort

In order to rescue kidnapped villagers and find armed bandits who attacked Wake and Gadanaji communities in Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, troops from the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division have begun an operation in coordination with other security agencies.

Security analyst Zagazola reported on his X handle that a large group of armed bandits broke into Wake village at approximately 5:55 a.m. on Sunday, firing intermittently.

Elisha Pius, Japhet Bitrus, Obadiah Joshua, Luka Augustine, and Paul Augustine from Wake village, as well as Ezekiel Augustine, Ishaya Paul, and Bulus Bawa from Gadanaji village, were among the locals who perished.

Sanda Christopher, Isaac Elisha, Moses Christian, Godday Clement, Janet Godday of Wake, Sunday Nuhu, Zakariah Anthony, and Gideon Pius of Gadanaji were among the others who were hurt.

Additionally, an unspecified number of villagers were kidnapped and transported to unidentified locations.

According to reports, troops arrived on the scene right away and evacuated the injured to hospitals for treatment; some were sent to Kaduna’s Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital.
