Obudu-Bekwarra-Obanliku constituency will not hold primaries, according to the APC Representative candidate

Antonia Agbede-Ally, an All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Obudu-Bekwarra-Obanliku Federal Constituency in Cross River State, has claimed that the constituency did not hold primaries.

In an interview with Arise Television’s “Morning Show” on Tuesday, Agbede-Ally made the assertion.

She was responding to the nationwide House of Representatives primary election that just ended.

Before the purported primaries, there was a great deal of chaos. I was not invited to a meeting for all of the APC members in the area.

I pushed my way into the hall, where the Chairman of Obudu LGA and a number of dignitaries were present, including Hon. Peter Akpanke of the House of Representatives, the constituency’s current representative.

Even though I and another candidate were present and wanted to run, I was informed during the meeting that the governor of Cross River State had ordered that Hon. Akpanke be supported.

“My people had confirmed they were instructed to vote Peter Akpanke, but no election was held to that effect even in my area,” she stated.
