After more than two years in exile, Barcelona will finally play Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on November 22 in their renovated Camp Nou stadium, the team announced on Monday. The Catalan giants have had to play elsewhere since the stadium closed at the end of the 2022–2023 season, mostly at the Olympic Stadium on the city’s Montjuic hill. After a 1.5 billion euro ($1.75 billion) makeover marred by construction upheaval, Camp Nou is reopening a year later than planned due to a number of delays. When the upper deck is finished, there will be room for 105,000 people. Barcelona will open the stadium with a temporary capacity of 45,401.
