Peter Obi promises to press charges against Kenneth Okonkwo for alleged defamation.

Peter Obi promises to press charges against Kenneth Okonkwo for alleged defamation.

In response to accusations of corruption during the party’s primary elections, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to pursue a defamation lawsuit against Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

On Tuesday, Obi made the promise in an exclusive interview with Oseni Rufai on Nevon Media.

Recall that the former Nollywood star who is now a politician made an appearance on national television, claiming that candidates for the House of Representatives were forced to pay a N10 million bribe to obtain tickets while Obi was in charge.

According to the attorney, the candidate claimed in private that Peter Obi is the head, stomach, and feet of the criminal gang and that he is the leader of the extortion scheme.

At a hotel in Abuja, Okonkwo accused Obi of hand-picking candidates who did not participate in or win the primaries.

In response, Obi stated during the interview, “If he had stopped at those allegations, the issue of taking Kenneth Okonkwo to court would not have arisen.” However, he asserted that he still had more information about me that he would eventually reveal.

So that he can publicly expose me and other Nigerians, I am delighted to take him to court. They should take me to court if they have any criminal accusations against me.
