PoliticsOsun Guber: On election day, the APC promises to unseat Governor Adeleke

Oluwole Oke, the director general of the All Progressives Congress campaign organization, has declared that Bola Oyebamiji, the party’s nominee for governor, will unseat Ademola Adeleke by 10:00 p.m. on election day.

During the inauguration of nearly 800 members of the party’s campaign council for the Osun State governorship election in 2026, Oke made the claim on Wednesday.

Oyebamiji was ready to “rescue Osun from the drift of collapse being plunged into by the current administration,” he said, criticizing the current administration’s handling of state resources. He claimed that the campaign council was adamant about getting rid of Adeleke, saying that “removing Adeleke is non-negotiable, as his days in office are numbered.”

Oke was named Director General of the campaign council, along with other coordinators from each senatorial district, as the party had already declared.

Oke stated during the inauguration that the council had started grassroots efforts and mobilization after its announcement.

He claimed that state institutions were no longer operating as planned and that the current administration had failed in a number of areas, including mining, education, health, and agriculture. The incumbent has left. His time in office is running out. Oke stated, “The government has failed the people of Osun State on every front.”

“It is regrettable that their sing-song is paying salary, forgetting that workers deserve pay,” he continued. Paying a salary is not an accomplishment.

Oke declared that the party was dedicated to tackling socioeconomic issues, such as poverty, unemployment, and governance, and he promised initiatives to enhance welfare and bring back the state’s “lost glory.””We are professionals at removing a sitting governor, as I have always stated. Adeleke will be removed by 10:00 p.m. on August 15, 2026. He declared that Bola Oyebamiji would prevail and be proclaimed the legitimately elected governor of Osun.

Peace and Resolution, Contact and Mobilization, Women Mobilization, Media and Publicity, Youth and Civil Society, Social Engagement, Research and Strategy, Legal, Medical, Diaspora, Multiface Interface, Entertainment, and Non-indigene committees are among the committees that make up the campaign council. Each committee has a designated chairperson and secretary.
