S’ Eagles Get Housing Documents and National Honors for Their AFCON 2023 Achievement

As part of incentives authorized by the Federal Government for their runner-up performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, members of Nigeria’s Super Eagles have officially received their national honors certificates along with housing and land allotment documents. A Federal Government team led by Senator Abdul Ningi, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, and Hon. Kabiru Amadu, the chairman of the House Committee on Sports, delivered the presentation on Monday in Fez, Morocco.The delegation gave the players paperwork attesting to the distribution of land and housing units, as well as certificates of national honors.Following the Super Eagles’ outstanding performance in the tournament, where Nigeria advanced to the final before losing 2-1 to host nation Côte d’Ivoire in the 2024-determined competition, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu fulfilled his promises by awarding all squad members and team officials the national honor of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) at a reception held at the Presidential Villa. The President also announced that each player would receive a flat and a plot of land in the Federal Capital Territory in recognition of their performance.
