The well-known Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, died in Kaduna after a prolonged illness.
Family sources confirmed that the respected cleric, who was over 100 years old, passed away on Wednesday.
The news was later announced on X by former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad.
Ahmad wrote that he received the news of the death of the revered leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, one of the Tijjaniyya order leaders in Nigeria, with deep sorrow and acceptance of Allah’s will. He prayed for Allah to forgive the Sheikh’s faults, accept his good deeds, and grant him Paradise.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was considered one of the most influential Islamic scholars in Nigeria.
