Senator Aminu Tambuwal has called on the Federal Government to expand counterterrorism operations beyond Sokoto State to include other high-risk areas like Borno, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kaduna.
Speaking on Arise Television, the lawmaker argued that security collaborations should not be limited to a single location, as terrorism is a transnational issue affecting multiple regions.
While acknowledging the recent U.S. airstrikes against ISIS militants in the Northwest, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and AFRICOM confirmed were a coordinated effort requested by Nigeria.
Tambuwal urged the government to seek broader international support to ensure all affected parts of the country receive adequate attention and protection.
