Lance Cpl. Rotimi Olamilekan, a fired soldier, made false and misleading accusations, which the Nigerian Army rejected as a calculated attempt to mislead the public and lower unit morale.
Olamilekan, also known as “Soja Boi,” was fired from the Army due to “persistent and grave acts of indiscipline,” including breaking the Armed Forces Social Media Policy, according to a statement released on Tuesday by Col. Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations.
Anele explained that Olamilekan’s termination adhered to due procedure in accordance with the Armed Forces Act and established military standards rather than being related to voicing personal beliefs.

Additionally, an Army spokeswoman denied claims that soldiers buy their own clothing and safety equipment.
She claims that the provision of kits, which include helmets and bulletproof vests, is an institutional duty managed by well-established logistics processes.
Although some employees might decide to add extra kits for their own comfort, this is completely optional and does not point to a systematic problem, she stated.
Claims that soldiers were deployed without protective gear are “reckless and unfounded,” according to Anele, who cautioned that such tales might undermine public trust and lower unit morale.
She called on people and the media to confirm information from reliable sources before disseminating it, urging the public to ignore the accusations.
