The Abia State House of Assembly has announced its full backing for the state government’s economic policies, especially those focused on job creation, promoting local products, and attracting foreign investments.
This declaration of support was made by the Speaker, Emmanuel Emeruwa, on Tuesday during a meeting with Jerome Green-Amakwe, the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Investment Promotion and Public Private Partnership (PPP). The Special Adviser visited the Assembly specifically to secure legislative support for the upcoming Abia-Turkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition scheduled for the current month.
The Assembly assured Green-Amakwe that all state policies aimed at developing and boosting the state’s economy would receive the lawmakers’ prompt support.
Earlier in his address to the lawmakers in Umuahia, the Special Adviser attributed the prevailing peace in the state to the positive relationship between the executive and legislative branches. He explained that the partnership with the Turkish government, a developed economy with technological expertise, is expected to create job opportunities and help showcase Abia State’s economic potential. He added that the summit is intended to foster a favorable environment for both Abia residents and other Nigerians currently in Turkiye.
