The Tinubu government would invest ₦80 billion to upgrade the infrastructure at 100 Unity schools.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has set aside ₦80 billion to improve the infrastructure of 100 Federal Government Colleges, also known as Unity Schools.
During an unexpected inspection at Federal Government College in Kano on Friday (today), Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, the Minister of State for Education, made this announcement.

The minister explained that the tour was intended to evaluate student welfare, leadership, and infrastructure.

Ahmad added that the visit’s objectives were to assess the institution’s teaching and learning environment and encourage efficient service delivery.

She emphasized that this involvement would improve cooperation between legislators and school administration in addressing issues and guaranteeing the availability of necessary facilities.

She stated that the ministry is creating a digital platform to support teacher training across the country and that the federal government is dedicated to guaranteeing high-quality education and enhancing teachers’ ability to meet predetermined goals.

“The digital platform will improve the quality of education in Unity Schools and increase teacher capacity.” Additionally, it will make training and resources available to educators wherever they may be.

“This investment will provide modern infrastructure and a conducive learning environment for students,” she said.

The minister additionally toured the Federal Government Girls’ College in Kazaure, as part of initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education within Unity Schools.

She stated that these inspection visits align with the government’s objective to rejuvenate Unity Schools and foster a conducive environment for efficient teaching and learning.
