After their behavior in the Copa del Rey final loss to Barcelona over the weekend, football pundits Gary Lineker and Micah Richards have described Real Madrid as ’embarrassing.’
Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger was also singled out for criticism.
Remember that Barcelona triumphed over Real Madrid 3-2 thanks to Jules Kounde’s decisive goal in extra time.
In the final minutes of the match, after Koundé scored, tensions erupted on the Real Madrid bench.
Rudiger tried to face off against referee De Burgos Bengoetxea and hurled an ice cube in his direction.
The Germany international, who was sent off for his conduct, has since expressed remorse to De Burgos Bengoetxea.
Lineker remarked on The Rest is Football podcast: “We witnessed the incident involving Vinicius when Rodri secured the Ballon d’Or, and it was somewhat lacking in class. And they completely lost their heads in this game.

“Everyone has moments, but they need to talk to themselves a little. When you’re so accustomed to winning, it’s difficult and not always easy to cope with loss.
Richards commented, “It’s embarrassing [from Rudiger].” That’s embarrassing.
“Real Madrid is a prestigious club with strong values. They are champions, but you can’t behave that way.
