A young woman was allegedly killed inside Bekay Pharmacy near the Total Roundabout in Nsukka, Enugu State, on Monday, following a confrontation over accusations of infidelity. According to a social media post by influencer Sen. Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, a man identified as Emma Nwagwu allegedly stormed the pharmacy, where the woman was receiving treatment, and accused her of having an affair with a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) who was supposedly waiting outside in his vehicle. Witnesses claimed that during the argument, Nwagwu smashed the victim’s head against a wall, causing her immediate death. An angry crowd attempted to mob the suspect until security personnel intervened. Ugwuanyi further alleged that Nwagwu tried to attack the DPO, who then drew his service pistol before bystanders separated them. The suspect, reportedly a known political operative in the Nsukka area, was subsequently taken into custody at the Nsukka Police Area Command. Police authorities in Enugu have not yet released an official statement on the incident.
