Former Senate leader Ali Ndume has called on the Federal Government to provide humanitarian aid to the Borno State government for the resettlement, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of victims displaced by more than a decade of insurgency. The senator for Borno South made this appeal during a Christmas event for Internally Displaced Persons at the CAN Centre, organized with the Coalition of Christian Youths. Ndume praised Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his dedication to humanitarian recovery, particularly in the Gwoza Local Government Area and other affected communities. In response to requests from IDPs to return to their ancestral homes, the lawmaker promised to relay their appeal to the governor and ensure their return. Additionally, the Chairman of Borno State Christian Youths, Barrister Ephraim Yidawi, thanked the senator for his support and urged for the inclusion of Christian youth organizations in the process of repatriating and reintegrating refugees from Cameroon.
