The recently established Imo State chapter of the Action Peoples Party (APP) has rejected the Federal High Court in Gusau, Zamfara state’s alleged nullification of the party’s national congresses.

According to the report, all congresses held and overseen by the APP’s national office, chaired by Barrister Uchenna Nnadi, were declared invalid by the court presided over by Justice Hamza Mohamed. This has implications for the LMO state chapter.

On Sunday, April 2026, the Imo state branch of the party held a congress with other federation states, producing Hon. Ernest Njesi as the state chairman and other officers.

In a statement issued on Wednesday night, the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Ambassador Steve Nnadi, declared that no judgment or exparte order exists or comes from any court in Zamfara.

He emphasized that no court has annulled or deregistered APP congresses nationwide, including the Imo state chapter.

Imo APP members and the general public should reject and disregard the fake news from hell created by Imo state’s All Progressive Congress (APC)-led administration.

“It is a cacophony and blabbing of an outgoing failing government that cannot be taken seriously in its whole.

“To this end, let it be clear that the federal high court in Zamfara state lacks jurisdiction to entertain such exparte motion brought by a faceless Kelechi Anyanwu unknown to the party,” he stated.
