On Saturday, a young female child was killed in an accident that took place in the Osisioma Umuimo area of Aba, Abia State. The crash involved a long truck carrying goods, a tricycle, and a Lexus 330 SUV. Mr. Igwe Nwoke, a transporter who witnessed the event, stated that the tricycle, which was carrying passengers, collided with the SUV while trying to avoid the truck approaching from the opposite direction. Nwoke reported that some of the passengers were severely injured, including a small child who lost consciousness. He lamented that irresponsible driving is often the cause of road accidents. The Sector Commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abia State, Ngozi Ezeoma, confirmed the accident to DAILY POST on Monday, specifying that one female child died. Ezeoma said that the crash occurred at Osisioma Umuimo near Kentus Filling Station and involved a Lexus Jeep 330 and a tricycle, often referred to as a “keke.”
