In a heated London derby on Sunday, Arsenal and ten-man Chelsea fought to a 1-1 draw, with Mikel Merino saving the day. Late in the first half at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea player Moises Caicedo was sent off for a brutal tackle on Merino. Trevoh Chalobah gave Chelsea a second-half lead despite Caicedo’s departure, but Merino’s equalizer made sure Arsenal survived the intense match between the championship rivals. Arsenal is six points ahead of third-place Chelsea and five points ahead of second-place Manchester City, who defeated Newcastle on Saturday.
