The Lagos State Government and transport unions have reached an agreement on a new enforcement fee of N10,000 for the electronic call-up system for trucks operating along the Lekki-Epe Corridor.
This came after a high-level meeting at the Dangote Refinery yesterday, organized by the Lagos State Government and Dangote Industries Limited
However, the system will be enforced starting August 1, 2025. It should be noted that petroleum marketers and truck owners had temporarily stopped product lifting at the Dangote Refinery and Lekki Seaport after the Lagos State government imposed an N12,500 e-call-up levy on trucks operating in the Lekki-Epe corridor. Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) organized a peaceful protest, withdrawing haulage and fuel trucks from the corridor in opposition to what they call an “Exploitative, ill-timed, and burdensome” policy.
