According to PUNCH Sports Extra, Nigeria’s women’s national football team, c, will play either Comoros or Sudan in the qualifying round for the women’s football competition at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Following the Confederation of African Football’s qualification draw in Cairo on Wednesday, which outlined the route for the continent’s representatives, the trail was verified.
Nigeria, the most successful national team in Africa, will start their campaign against the victor of the preliminary match between Sudan and Comoros after receiving a bye into the second round due to their pedigree.
There are only two spots available for African teams to compete in the Olympic Games. A total of 35 countries are participating in the qualification process, which will take place over five knockout rounds at home and away.
The first round, which is set for June 2026, will pit the six lowest-ranked teams—including Sudan and Comoros—against top-ranked teams like Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana.
