Hoodlums reportedly attacked the residence of the Police Divisional Officer in Aujara town, Jigawa State, killing one police officer and seriously injuring another. The raid occurred on Monday midnight, targeting officers on duty. One officer, Police Constable Nura Garba Jahun, died from the attack and the other sustained serious injuries; both were rushed to Jahun General Hospital, where one was confirmed dead while the other is receiving treatment. The deceased officer’s father, Malam Garba Jahun, confirmed the burial according to Islamic rites but noted that the police authorities have not provided him with any reason for the attack or other details. The Jigawa State Police Command Spokesman, SP Lawan Shi’isu Adam, stated he was not yet briefed on the incident but promised to update the press once he receives the details.
