Desmond Olushola Elliot, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly who represents Surulere Constituency I, has announced that he plans to run for reelection in the upcoming legislative elections.
Elliot confirmed that he had received the nomination paperwork to run for a second term in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday.
He clarified that his decision is based on his dedication to serving the public and his wish to build on the advancements made in Surulere Constituency I.
The legislator pointed out that returning to the Assembly would make him a ranking member, which he claimed would benefit the constituency even more.
“Returning automatically makes me a ranking member, and our constituency benefits greatly from this accomplishment,” he said.
Elliot also thanked ward executives, community leaders, youth and women’s organizations, party leaders, and other stakeholders for their ongoing support, which he said was crucial to his political career.
He emphasized the value of harmony and respect for one another while urging his followers to maintain composure and concentration throughout the election process.
Our unity has always been our strength, and I have no doubt that the same spirit will lead us once more,” he continued.
The lawmaker reiterated that supporting Surulere’s ongoing development and helping Lagos State as a whole continue to be his top priorities.
