Panic ensued in Bauchi on Monday when a section of an uncompleted storey building suddenly collapsed on Sir Kashim Ibrahim Street, trapping seven construction workers. The structure gave way around 3 p.m., prompting immediate rescue efforts from residents and motorists before emergency services arrived. Dauda Pali, the Deputy Director of the Bauchi State Fire Service, confirmed that his team responded quickly to the distress call, and all seven trapped workers were successfully pulled out alive from the debris and taken to the hospital for treatment. Pali stated that the agency would investigate the cause of the structural failure and urged contractors to adhere strictly to proper engineering standards to prevent future collapses.
